With Amphoteric, there's no mixing a bit of this with a bit of that, then throwing in some hip-hop for good measure, as seems to be the trend nowadays. They're simply a Liverpool 3 piece that plays melodic punk rock music (or pop-punk, call it what you will), two and a half minutes of youthful rebelliousness at a time. They're a band with very strong opinions, not least when it comes to punk rock ethics.

The band draws mainly on 90s punk, all the way from Descendents,MxPx,NOFX through to the modern stylings of Midtown and Allister, though the strut of the Clash can also be picked out. With hopes of bringing some punk back to the pop/punk genre, with what some would say is a more serious approach to the music (no poo-poo jokes here), Amphoteric are steadily building a reputation in the North West, headlining local gigs and supporting many touring bands on their Liverpool shows.
