DEAD STARS are a band from Norwich, England and formed in September 2001 as the seventh lineup of Sphincter. Shortly after this the band decided that their name did not do justice to the songs they were writing so changed it. Making; Justin Brand (vocals/guitar), Alex Fearn (guitar/vocals), Byron McGill (bass) and Adam Large (percussion) DEAD STARS The music has been described as 'highly impressive punk genius with the odd ska wound ripping into the mix' and they take elements of emo, hardcore, pop punk and ska which make their songs 'heartfelt, melodic and moody' yet still highly energetic and upbeat making them 'blisteringly infectious'.

DEAD STARS live shows are a testament to their music and they have played Norwich's largest venue; the UEA LCR to a crowd of 1000+ supporting American skate band OPM who had a top 4 hit in the UK with their single 'Heaven Is A Halfpipe'. The band have also supported 4FT FINGERS, JESSE JAMES and LIGHTYEAR and in August 2002 headlined Norwich's second largest venue;THE WATERFRONT to a crowd of 450.

Through these live shows DEAD STARS have built up a strong and loyal local fan base as well as attracting fans from further afield through their website : **dead stars online**
